Is south Westeros actually Ireland?

by admin on July 24, 2011

One inhabitant of the depths on the internets had the  bright insight that the southern part of Westeros is actually an almost exact copy of a horizontally flipped Ireland. Check it out:

Ireland flipped = westeros bit

Very interesting, because I had noted that the upper portion of Westeros looks a lot like England, including Hadrian’s Wall and Scotland.

Also, the “King on the Iron Throne” sigil is almost an exact copy of the coat of arms of Northern Ireland. You have to look in the book to find the sigil; it’s not on the interwebs.

Looks a good theory, on looking closer the bottom half could be a distorted and reversed image of england and wales
